"Making Art is better than a day at the Spa" - Catherine McMillen

Since 2006 a group of artists have been coming together in Waverley, Nova Scotia to share a love of art making. The group was founded to give artists the possibility to step out of their studios and enjoy creative company once a week. Artists work on their own projects in various mediums and techniques, support each other and share information on art related topics. The members have also worked on collaborative art projects such as the “Global Shoe Project” and “Mosaic for Mental Health”.

This painting "Stormy Seas" is by Catherine McMillen.  At over 80 years of age, she is the oldest member of the "ArtSpa" group and has been creating pieces for more than 60 years!
